It’s Great to Be Green!

I just returned from a 3-day music festival that was out of this world!

This was no ordinary music festival.

It was a "green" festival, which means I didn’t see a single broken bottle, there were people of all ages (newborns to 70s), everyone was incredibly happy and full of love, and the self-expression was beyond anything I’ve ever seen before.

I’ve been hearing all of this talk about "green" these days, but didn’t really identify with it at all.

Frankly, I thought it was a little silly.

But, it seems to have snuck up on me.  I drive a hybrid, we had a "green your house" party last week (more on that later), and I went to a "green" music festival.  Yes, I am even considering composting.

Now, if you can just get me to turn off the lights!

The best part is that I am meeting amazing people through this green community who are leaving their passionless jobs and following their dreams.

Personally, I think "green" is a misnomer.  It’s not really about environmental consciousness.  It’s about consciousness as a whole.

And, the more conscious you become, the more connected you become to what truly brings you joy and once you find that out, it’s mighty hard to do anything else.

And, hey, why would you want to?

Tom and Max found their joy and in doing so are making our world a better place to live.

Tom Levine used to be an institutional stock investor until he left Wall Street and followed his passion here, to California, where he founded The Sustainable Group and now trades carbon credits so that he can help us offset our footprints.

Max Simon was a mortgage broker right out of college definitely not living his joy when he stepped off the path and onto the road of making a difference by first by going to work for Deepak Chopra’s company and working way up to Director of Consumer Products (a huge job!) at the age of only 25, but he is now getting ready to get us all SelfCentered.

You used to think being self-centered was a bad thing?  You won’t after hearing Max’s take on the issue.  I’m proud to say I’m self-centered and you can be too.

The most amazing thing about this community is that hundreds (thousands?) of people came together consciously and created a village of kindness, compassion and love.

It reminded me that true joy comes from sharing your greatest gifts with the world, whatever that might look like.

Sadly, most of us never get to experience that kind of joy because we are held back by the intense conditioning imposed by our parents, our schools, our jobs and all the other noise out there.

My assignment for you this week is to find your joy.  During your meditation, during your exercise, first thing when you wake up and last thing before you go to bed - ask yourself,

WHAT BRINGS ME JOY?

It’s hard to find your purpose when you are sleepwalking through your day.  When all you do is what is necessary to pay the bills.

And, that my friends is what the music festival was really all about. People from all walks of life coming together to express their joy.

For some that joy looked like crazy costumes, singing, dancing, and twirling. For some, it was artistry, painting, clay, structures. For some it was just observing.  All of it was accepted.  All of it was loved.

Wondering what I was inspired to do?

I’m launching a new e-zine, called It’s All Happening where I’ll let you watch as I follow my dream of Guiding Families to Greater Wealth, Health and Happiness.  And, I’ll let you learn from my mistakes and pave the way for you to live your dreams too.

If you are a creative, heart-centered person who has a dream and you are ready to make it happen, send an email to alexis@familywealthmatters.com with It’s All Happening in the subject line and we’ll get you signed up.
